Seals, Frames & Shelters

Loading Dock Seals and Shelters

Anyone familiar with loading docks and other areas where materials are moved from trucks to buildings is familiar with McGuire. The company, located at Germantown, Wisconsin, has more than four decades experience in building the seals and shelters used in these industries. If you are looking for the best in loading dock equipment, make sure you check out the McGuire line of seals and shelters.

Frames or Shelters

The frame or shelter used at a loading dock provides the structure on the outside of the warehouse building. This serves as the link between the truck and the building during the unloading process. Rigid frames built of steel or wood provide the most protection to the building from truck damage. Soft sided frames provide more flexibility for different truck sizes. In any case, the frame should allow easy access to the entire opening of the truck door for easy offloading. McGuire frame products include the TC400 Rigid Wood, TC300 Flexible Steel, TC900 Soft Sided, TC1000 Weather Sentry and the TC500 Flexible Wood Frame.

McGuire manufactures a number of products designed to close off or seal the space between the back of the truck and the frame or shelter. These devices reduce the amount of cold or hot outside air that infiltrates into the loading dock building. The seals also reduce the incidents of insects entering the warehouse. This is especially important when handling refrigerated or food products. McGuire manufactures seals in foam and other materials. The curtain head, the portion of the seal across the top of the door, is designed to adjust and accommodate any height of truck. McGuire seals are identified as the “TS” product line and include fixed or curtain heads and fixed or curtain pads. The products are also available in varying materials offering high traffic loading docks the option of using specialized high-durability materials while docks seeing lighter traffic may opt for vinyl curtains.
